Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell became a reporter for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). In Washington she was made general correspondent for NBC News two year later. 1981 was the year she began reporting on at the White House, and in 1988, she was promoted to chief congressional correspondent. She became Chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and was an expert panelist on the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a part of the panel during the 1988 Presidential Debates, which featured George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married Alan Greenspan a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her work in the defense and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was the very first reporter to cover White House stories for NBC News during the presidency of Ronald Reagan as president between 1981 and 1988. She reported on a variety of interesting stories such as arm control, budget tax reform as well as the Iran-contra scandal and traveled extensively together with President Reagan to summits alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world leaders.
